Dear Sailors,
Despite the recent volcanic activity, we are happy to say that Puerto Tazacorte remains fully operative and accessible. Boaters should be aware that there is a coastal marine exclusion zone to the south of the marina around the volcano area – do get in touch with us for updates.

Visiting La Palma

Ensure that you pack your walking boots and panama hat to make the most of the La Palma. From a traditional ocean community to one of the world’s top observational astronomy sites above a sea of clouds, you will struggle not to fall in love with the island.

  • La Palma: Waterfalls, woodland and amazing views

La Palma embodies slow travel at its very best, a full island Biosphere Reserve with a landscape replete with waterfalls, Canarian pine and humid laurel forests, extraordinary geological features and glorious views.

  • What to do in Tazacorte

The sunny west side of the island has much to recommend it. Tazacorte’s beaches, sunsets and nearby town make for a very attractive place to stop. There are great walks and visits nearby, and a bus stop a short distance from the marina to access some of the island’s famous sites of natural beauty.

  • Events in La Palma

Steeped in tradition and testament to years of hardship that saw a significant emigration to the Caribbean, La Palma’s popular culture shares a marvellously idiosyncratic interpretation of historical events. In this section, we’ve set out a few of the top events taking place throughout the year, including the 5-yearly “Bajada” with its quite spectacular entertainment programme and of course “Los Indianos”, the island’s carnival extravaganza.
